Haiti Song
In January 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Paut-au-Prince, Haiti killed more than 100,000 people and affected many millions more.
1Radio’s DJ Tuzzy had the idea to get presenters to record a charity song in support of those affected by the disaster.
Pub busker Dusty Miller wrote and recorded a song with lyrics set to rhyme badly with 1Radio.
Others from the presenter community recorded messages of support - or more likely, I just assembled clips from their jingles. The mish mash of name drops was included in the final mix.
A JustGiving page was set up and raised about £70 pounds for the Disaster Relief effort.
The Haiti song was one of a few charitable initiatives dreampt up by 1Radio presenters over the station's lifetime.
